2018 Council Report

Information Submitted By: Geri Bell

Aloha mai Kakou! Moku o Keawe extends its congratulations and best wishes to Moku o Manokalanipo. Mahalo nui loa for hosting this year’s convention! Moku o Keawe continued to engage its member clubs in a facilitated process of Strategic Planning at itʻs retreats and quarterly meetings. At the end of 2017 and into the beginning of 2018 the Council voted on and refined itʻs Ala Nuʻukia, or strategic vision:

E Piʻi ma ke Kuamoʻo i Mana ka Lāhui a Ola ka ʻĀina.

Ascending on the backbone of our ancestors, leads to an empowered nation and thriving lands.

BUILDING ON THE INNOVATIONS AND FOUNDATION OF THE PAST TO ENSURE A HEALTHY ʻĀINA AND A THRIVING LĀHUI FOR THE FUTURE.

This is the vision that has been adopted for the next 25 -100 years, or in a different framing, the next 1-4 generations. This vision statement will guide the actions, projects, goals, and undertakings of the Council. A 5-10 year strategic plan has yet to be developed to define the work that will guide us through the incremental steps to attaining our goals of an empowered nation and thriving lands for our people. Alignment to the strategic vision will ensure that we are engaging in a pono fashion on a trajectory to attaining our goals.

As I come to the end of my term as Council pelekikena, I mahalo the Executive Board, pelekikena, alaka’i and clubs for their dedication to the Council and Association. They have all made positive impacts in their communities by keeping engaged and focused on our purposes and objectives Their leadership is unrivaled!
