2018 Club Report
ALOHA KAKOU:
Another year upon us our club attended the last convention in Seattle, Washington from Oct. 29,2017 thru November 5,2017. We had 8 delegates and 6 alternates attending and our member Kapiolani Barber was chairing the Employment and Housing Committee, her first year attending convention. Unfortunately she is unable to chair and attend our upcomingg convention.
Our club continues to be involved with all of our other community organizations by attending Neighborhood meetings, Waianae Navigational 2030, Hoomau Keola and also Ka'anani'au Monthly meetings. We continue to uphold and honor the Association and Oahu Councils in honor of our prince vision, 'PRINCE JONAH KUHIO KALANI'ANA'OLE'.
Our club awarded 7 scholarships this year to our young opio seeking a higher education to students from Kamehameha school, Nanakuli High School and Waianae High school with the help of our new Scholarship Chair Shirline Ho.
We attended scholarship fundraisers for Makaha HCC, Queen Emma HCC and also started the year off by attending Ke One O Kakuhihewa fundraiser "Sweet Someone" at the Prince Hotel in February and attended Honolulu HCC's Holoku Ball. We also attend Alii Sundays, clean Maunaala and attend all quarterly meetings of the Ke One O Kakuhihewa. This year also attended meetings with DLNR invited by Leimana Demate with the Aha Moku Advisory board and supported her request for funding for the Aha Moku Advisory committee. Also attended meeting with the Water commissioner to discuss Waianae Mokus water problems. Also attended CNHA Governors forum in July..
Our club is one big Ohana and we work very closely with all of the Waianae Moku clubs along the Leeward coast and strive to work together and keep each other informed.
