2018 Club Report

 

The Hawaiian Civic Club of Waimanalo (HCCW) strive toward, e hana like kakou, working together with our Waimanalo community. HCCW members participate in monthly activities in Aha Mele with the Waimanalo Seniors sharing aloha in song with kupuna living at Lunalilo Home and at Aloha Care in Kaneohe. At other times HCCW members are working alongside St. George Church members a their Foodbank events feeding those in need. In addition, HCCW members also help to feed and provide clothing to our houseless Waimanalo Beach population.

 

Other activities in 2018 in which HCCW members participated, supported, attended and/or held are: Hui Malama O Ke Kai 20th Anniversary celebration; Aha Mele at the 2018 Mother's and Father's Day Luncheon in Waimanalo; Funeral services for Senator Daniel Akaka; 2018 OHA Forum at Windward Community College; HCCW Scholarship Fundraiser with Garage and Bake Sale and Chili Plate Lunch Sale; Aloha Onipa'a.org Special Event; Waimanalo Elementary School Community Appreciation Day; Aha Mele with Lanakila Pacific Meals on Wheels Kupuna Program; Mauna'ala Clean-Up Day; Laulea Fundraiser; Senior Valentine's Day Dance at the Neal Blaisell Center; Prince Kuhio Parade & Ho'ike'ike at Kapiolani Park; La Ho'iho'iho in Waimanalo lead by member Kalani Kalima; Pono & Limu Research events lead by member Ilima Ho-Lastimosa.

 

HCCW upcoming future events include, but not limited to more activities, are our 9th Annual Makahiki at Waimanalo Beach Park on Saturday, November 24, 2018; La Ku'u Koa on Sunday, November 25, 2018; 2018 AHCC Convention on Kauai from November 11-18, 2018 and; HCCW 2018 Christmas Party.
