ALOHA!
With a sturdy foundation laid by pelekikena iho nei, Matthew Erickson, and under the new guidance of incoming pelekikena, Daryl Fujiwara, the Lahaina Hawaiian Civic Club has been reinvigorated and focused on seeking new membership and engaging community.

In addition to their usual roundup of community events like our annual Paina Mahalo for the Kupuna of Hale Mahaolu 'Eono, the Na Kamehameha Commemorative Pa'u Parade & Ho'olaule'a, awarding our scholarship, the No Ka 'Oi Volleyball Tournament, Festivals of Aloha Maui Nui Style! (Richard Ho'opi'i Falsetto Contest and Lahaina Banyan Tree Ho'olaule'a) and Maui Nui Canoe Race, this year LHCC has also put its hands into: the Prince Kuhio Maui Ho'olaule'a, the Lahaina Second Friday Maui Town Party, Earth Day 2013, and Celebrate Historic Lahaina.

To touch the community we collaborated with NOAA Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, Pacific Islands Climate Change Cooperative, Friends of Moku'ula, Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, Molten Maui Volleyball Club, Hui O Wa'a Kaulua, Lahaina Town Action Committee, Lahaina Restoration Foundation, Betty's Beach Cafe, Tri-Isle RC&D Council, Inc., Connec, LLC., Pili 'Ohana, Mana Magazine, Malama Honokowai Valley and Halau Ka Malama Mahilani.

We want to also highlight member Holoaumoku Ralar, who is the currently acting pelekikena of the Maui Council. She has been working very hard and we want to mahalo her for all her efforts.
