Kama Aliʻi Award
Outstanding Young Hawaiian Civic Club Member
(updated 8/11/2026) The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs seeks to recognize an outstanding young Hawaiian Civic Club member who best exemplifies the ideals and example set forth by Prince Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole through his or her service, dedication, and active involvement in their Hawaiian Civic Club and the greater Hawaiian community for the previous calendar year.
- Only Hawaiian Civic Club members in good standing with the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs may be nominated for this award.
- Nomination form MUST be received NO LATER THAN 45 days prior to the Convention start date via the online application and MUST include 1 high resolution photo of nominee. NOTE: Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
- The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at the Annual AOHCC Convention.
Nominees for the Kama Aliʻi Award will be judged on the following criteria:
- Contribution to the overall success of his or her civic club by demonstrated efforts that promote Hawaiian civic matters in areas such as education, housing, health, and environment protection and preservation.
- Demonstrates excellence and stands out among peers as demonstrated by personal involvement in civic activities which promote Hawaiian civic matters in a profound manner.
- Strong current and past community involvement which promotes Hawaiian culture and civic matters in an extraordinarily positive manner.
- 30 years of age or younger on the first day of the AOHCC Annual Convention.
