Ke Aliʻi Hulu Mamo Award
Outstanding Council of the Year
(Updated 8/11/2026) The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs seeks to recognize an outstanding Hawaiian Civic Club Council that best exemplifies the ideals and example set forth by Prince Kūhiō Kalaniana’ole through service, vision, collaboration, and active involvement throughout the previous calendar year.
- Only Councils in good standing with the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs may be nominated for this award.
- Nomination form MUST be received NO LATER THAN 45 days prior to the Convention start date via the online application and MUST include 1 high resolution photo of nominee. NOTE: Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
- The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at the Annual AOHCC Convention.
Nominees of the Ke Ali’i Hulu Mamo Award will be judged on the following criteria:
- Exemplifies the ideals and example set forth by Prince Kūhiō Kalaniana’ole.

Demonstrates a comprehensive member and/or community engagement in decision-making and action planning through resolutions authored and adopted, advocacy mobilization, policy information. data collection and research and supporting membership growth in civics and servant leadership.
Evidenced by initiative and effective community building, and integration of civic engagement and leadership into the membership experience.
Impact, future planning, & visioning
Ability to articulate significant measurable achievements in /he last two to three years based on the Councilʻs vision planning and/or Associationʻs Strategic Plan.
Drives a forward-facing mission of the Council by institutionalizing a culture of learning and practice
lnnovation & collaboration
Exemplifies creative problem-solving of complex challenges through cross-sector collaboration (nonprofits, local government , business, etc.) and regional collaboration (local organizations and/or councils and clubs).
Demonstrates creative use of leveraging strategic partnerships and resources to advance a common goal.
Co-creates with other community organizations and/or leaders resulting in partnerships that are deep, reciprocal, and transformational.
lnclusivity & equity
Shows intentional involvement of diverse community segments and perspectives (ethnic, racial, socio- economic, age, ability, gender expression, political belief, and others) in council decision-making actions and/or efforts.
