Kūlia i Ka Nu‘u Award

Outstanding Native Hawaiian (Non-Civic Club Member)

(updated 8/11/2026) The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs wishes to recognize the special volunteer efforts and dedication of an outstanding Native Hawaiian, (non-civic club member) who has supported and furthered the causes of the Hawaiian community for the previous calendar year.

  • Only Hawaiian Civic Clubs in good standing with the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs may submit nominations for this award.
  • Nomination form MUST be received NO LATER THAN 45 days prior to the Convention start date via the online application and MUST include 1 high resolution photo of nominee. NOTE: Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
  • The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at the Annual AOHCC Convention.

Nominees of the Kūlia i Ka Nu‘u Award will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Dedication and service to the Hawaiian community at-large.
  2. Active involvement and participation in the Hawaiian community throughout the previous calendar year.
  3. Contributes, supports and furthers the cause(s) of the Hawaiian community.
  4. The nominee demonstrates knowledge of Hawaiian values and principles.
